Mamma Mia!
Jennifer and I have been invited to attend the musical Mamma Mia! with our friends JD and Kris and Mac and Pam. After much deliberation we have decided to attend. This trip will cost us nearly $100 just for tickets. If we choose to go to dinner (which we probably will) we could spend as much as $100 (or more) in addition to the cost of the tickets. For one evening of entertainment. Shit. Maybe this was not a good decision. Oh, well. I'll just have to find a way to pay for it. Anyone want to buy a car? at full retail price? I am also accepting donations!!!
Jennifer and I have been listening to Abba quite a bit lately - courtesy of JD. We find the music to be happy, fun, uplifting and our kids really like it too. Jennifer doesn't like to listen to music very much anymore and our tastes, while alike in many ways, differ enough that we can't seem to agree what to listen to when Jennifer actually does feel like music. It is nice to have some music we agree on and can enjoy together. I am really looking forward to the musical.
Last night JD and Kris invited us over for clam chowder. We enjoy spending time with them. JD also makes very good clam chowder. I actually felt bad as we were leaving last night for staying so long. Kris was trying to get us to see that we had stayed past our welcome but it took me a while to see it and Jennifer (absorbed in her preparations for pre-school) didn't notice at all (and didn't get motivated until I said something along the lines of: "Jennifer, we need to go. Kris and JD have to work very early in the morning and it is 9:15." To which Kris responded: "Unfortunately this is true.") The reason I mention this is that in the course of the evening I noticed a book entitled "Etiquette for Men" - a little joke (I think) between Kris and JD. Jennifer would say (as I believe Kris would of JD) that I am not very socially aware most of the time (mostly I just don't care as much as she does - for more on this go here. I found it interesting that Jennifer wouldn't pick up on Kris' BIG yawns - obviously OVERDONE for a point - while I caught on for once. As I am writing this I am remembering one time that I made Jennifer promise to leave JD and Kris' house by a certain time because I feel like she wants to bask in the peace of having someone else taking care of our children for awhile. Just an interesting observation I guess. Note to JD and Kris - I hope we didn't stay TOO long last night. We would like to come again sometime.

Don't worry. You didn't overstay your welcome. Not as far as I know, anyhow. I, at least, will never be shy about saying, "Get the hell out of here, Jeremy." I think that if Kris had wanted to go to bed earlier, she would have said so.
We always enjoy having you over, and spending time with your family. I was impressed with Harrison's attention span last night. It's almost longer than Tony's...

Jeremy & Jenn-
Those were REAL yawns. I, too, will say, "Get the heck out of here!", so don't worry about it, silly! Now, if only Emma would apologize for throwing books.... K
